Fisher Information Framework for Time Series Modeling

A robust prediction model invoking the Takens embedding theorem, whose working hypothesis is obtained via an inference procedure based on the minimum Fisher information principle, is presented. The coefficients of the ansatz, central to the working hypothesis satisfy a time independent Schrödinger-like equation in a vector setting. The inference of i) the probability density function of the coe...

An explicit expression for the Fisher information matrix of a multiple time series process

The principal result in this paper is concerned with the derivative of a vector with respect to a block vector or matrix. This is applied to the asymptotic Fisher information matrix (FIM) of a stationary vector autoregressive and moving average time series process (VARMA). Representations which can be used for computing the components of the FIM are then obtained. In a related paper [1], the de...

On weighted Fisher information matrix properties

In this paper, we review Fisher information matrices properties in weighted version and discuss inequalities/bounds on it by using reduced weight functions. In particular, an extended form of the Fisher information inequality previously established in [6] is given. Further, along with generalized De-Bruijn's identity, we provide new interpretation of the concavity for the entropy power.

Corrections to "Construction of the exact Fisher information matrix of a Gaussian time series model by means of matrix differential rules"

This note contains some corrections and amplifications that were deduced from the implementation and testing of the method.

Calculation of the Fisher information matrix for multidimensional data sets

Data sets that are acquired in many practical systems can be described as the output of a multidimensional linear separable-denominator system with Gaussian measurement noise. An important example is nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. In NMR spectroscopy, high-accuracy parameter estimation is of central importance. A classical result on the Cramér–Rao lower bound states that the inv...
